MESSINA LABORATORIO CLASSES 2012

For anyone interested in finding out what goes on behind the scenes at Messina, we hold intimate Gelato Classes in the Messina Laboratorio and Patisserie throughout the year. Held each month, these classes are quite casual and the format can change at the drop of a hat, but you can expect something along these lines..

A Messina style hot chocolate (or coffee/tea) to start perhaps?
We prepare and churn 2 flavours (a sorbet and a gelato usually) and explain the process and recipes whilst we churn.. After that, we eat it.
There’s a tasting session where participants try as many flavours in the cabinet as they can handle.. Time permitting, you’ll get through up to 40 flavours..
We make a gelato cake, explain the technique behind it, and give you some tips on how to make sure yours is a winner.. (which again, you get to eat)..

And, all along we explain a little about how we at Messina make our gelato and why we do what we do..
At the end, we roll you out with a tub of gelato so you can go home and gorge yourself stupid!

We also provide recipes and a gift voucher for 2 single pieces from our new Laboratorio and Patisserie!
Suffice to say, you end up eating quite a lot of gelato.

We’ve now limited the sessions to 10 people per class so it’s more intimate and not so squishy in our little kitchen.

The cost is $85 per person and classes start at 9.30AM and goes till 12 midday (approx) on a Saturday morning.

Its held at our Darlinghurst Store.. 241 Victoria St, Darlinghurst.
