TRUE BLOOD – THE HEART IS HERE!

To celebrate the launch of -
True Blood: The Complete Fifth Season
we were asked to come up with a suitably blood-drenched, vampire delicacy..

We knew there had to be blood and lashings of it.. so we created a burnt caramel & pear gelato heart with a centre oozing with blood plum syrup. When you buy this little sucker of a kit, you get to inject the liquid blood into a 70% fleur de cao (barry callebaut) chocolate shell at the centre of the heart, which sits upon a white chocolate and malt feuilletine base. Once filled, rip it open and let the feeding frenzy begin.

Our limited edition Valentines Day special has returned.. Our Heart Attack is back and pappa’s got a brand new bag!!

A heart shaped monoporzione filled with dark chocolate gelato, our own raspberry goo, freeze dried raspberries rolled in popping candy, all encased in a white chocolate and rose water ganache.

You could buy this one if your girlfriends name is Shazza, or alternatively we’ll write the name of your loved one on it for you! Just let us know the name when you order.

THE MESSINA-MILLAR PROJECT 2013

Late last year we received an email from a 2012 MasterChef finalist by the name of Kylie Millar, asking if she could come and do some ‘work experience’ with us..

To which we replied – ‘Aren’t you the chic that split the parfait mixture whilst making Guillaume’s Nougat Glace dessert which ultimately lead to your tragic departure from the show?’ Apparently, this was the very same Kylie. How embarrassing..

A conundrum unfolded.. How could we possibly take on someone that had ‘gone out’ on a dessert? Was she out of her mind? What would the public think?

After a few tears, a cup of tea and a scoop or two, we made a very considered assessment of her application and decided it was only right she be given a second chance in the form of a challenge (these TV people really only understand things if they are presented in the form of a challenge).

“Bake us some cookies!” we said.. And whence next we meet we shall drink tea, gnaw on some bickies, and judge your efforts! Suffice to say, she completely blew us away with her baked delights. One thing led to another and before we knew it we had created Kylie Millar ice cream sandwiches and The Messina-Millar Project was born..

Christmas Pandoro Cakes are now available

As many of you may already know, every year we do a rather special Christmas Pandoro Cake that can be pre-ordered and customised with any of our signature flavours.
For about a week before xmas, our little team of scientists madly fill these traditional italian cakes with up to 3 flavours of your choosing, ready for collection just in time for Xmas day!
Because of both time and space constraints, numbers may be limited this year if we get inundated with orders..
To make things easier, you can now pre-order and pay for the pandoro xmas cakes online..
Just click on the link in on the home page or in the left column, and you’ll see the order page. You can pay and confirm immediately and customise on the spot..

You can pay by credit card or via paypal, whichever is easiest.
Of course, you can still do this in store if you wish to order and pay cash..

They are $58 and available for collection between the 21st and 24th of December (xmas eve – before 6pm)
