FINALLY! An activity you can do with your colleagues that you’ll actually all want to do. You can finally bring home a story about what you did today that people will want to hear. When was the last time you bragged about your ‘team bonding‘ or ‘team building‘ exercises enforced by your place of work? Welcome THE MESSINA NOT-SO-CORPORATE GELATO CLASSES, a version of our sell-out gelato class, specially adapted for you and your team mates.

THE DETAILS (these are the bits you need to tell your boss)

We offer 2 versions of the class – see below for the details:

Location: All classes are held at Messina HQ – Rosebery, Sydney (this is our HQ , classroom and production space). On special occasions, we can sometimes cater for groups of up 20 in our Fitzroy store in Melbourne.


Availability: The best times are evenings from 5.30pm on Monday – Thursday, Friday daytime, Saturday afternoons *subject to availability. Send us an email with your preferred date and we’ll see what we can do.

TIME 2 – 2.5 hours 1 – 1.5 hours
HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN ATTEND? UP TO 25 people UP TO 15 people
What kind of thing happens at the class?
  • We’ll welcome you and your team to Messina HQ and probably feed you a gelato creation straight away
  • Our Head Chef will split you into teams and each team will be allocated their own Messina chef
  • Now the fun begins…each team will come up with their version of the BEST DESSERT EVER using our gelato
  • You’ll learn some snazzy plating tips for desserts to get you started & we’ll talk you through the elements needed to create a beautiful (and delicious) dessert
  • Teams are provided with a selection of gelatos, sorbets & additions to choose from
  • Each team must come up with an idea and name, then create & plate up a dessert, making one for each member of the team and 1 for the chef
  • Then comes the eating, and the judgement. We’ll choose a winning team to be crowned the ‘Gelato Gods’ and who’ll receive a prize
  • We’ll welcome you and your team to Messina HQ and probably feed you a gelato creation straight away (there’s a theme here!)
  • After a quick run down about us – who we are, where we came from and how we make our gelato taste the way it does, the eating starts!
  • We’ll demo how we make our gelato – we’ll make the liquid base of the gelato infront of your eyes and explain how it turns from milk into gelato and some interesting stuff about the process. Gelato school’s fun!
  • Next we’ll show you how our Dr Evil’s Magic Mushroom cake comes to life, then you guessed it, we’ll slice it up and tuck in.
What do I get to eat? Throughout the class, we’ll feed you a selection of GELATO desserts – these are single serve portions of gelato. You’ll enjoy a 2 course gelato degustation (two specially created plated desserts) served to you throughout the class.
Do I take home anything?   • Unfortunately it’s hard for us to cater for people with allergies, but let us know what requirements you have and we’ll see what we can do.
